Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil: High-Quality Protection for Wooden Floors

What is Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil?

Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil is a high-quality product made from natural raw materials. It is designed to enhance the natural structure of wood and deepen its tones. This oil provides a matte, durable, dirt- and water-repellent surface with an open-pore structure that prevents yellowing. Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil is ideal for treating all penetrable wood and cork floors and wood-based panels, such as Sterling OSB boards, in indoor spaces. This product can be used as both a primer and a finishing coat, and is perfect as a final treatment for Blue Dolphin color oils.

How the product works

Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil works by penetrating deep into the wood and forming a protective layer. For the best results, the substrate must be dry and clean, with a wood moisture content of no more than 12%. The surface should be sanded with a grit of 120-150 before applying the oil. Stir the oil well and apply it thinly and evenly with a block brush or short-pile velour roller. For highly absorbent substrates, such as cork or beech wood, the oil must be applied generously and evenly distributed. After 24 hours, the floor can be lightly sanded and a second coat applied.

Benefits and properties

Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil offers various benefits for wooden floors. The product provides deep nourishment to the wood, enhancing its natural color and structure. The result is a matte, dirt- and water-repellent surface that is protected against wear. The oil is suitable for both penetrable wood and cork floors as well as wood-based panels. Consumption ranges from 45 to 80 ml per square meter, depending on the absorbency of the substrate. Additionally, the oil is solvent-free, making it an environmentally friendly choice.

Instructions for use

To apply Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil, the surface must be dry, clean, and sanded. Stir the oil well and apply it thinly and evenly with a block brush or short-pile velour roller. Allow the oil to dry for 12-16 hours at a temperature of 20°C and a relative humidity of 50-55%. After 24 hours, the floor can be lightly sanded and a second coat applied. For highly absorbent substrates, a third coat may be necessary. After the final coat, the floor is lightly loadable after three days and fully loadable after 7-10 days.

Storage and safety advice

Blue Dolphin Hardwax-Oil should be stored cool, dry, and tightly closed. A skin may form that should be removed before use. Used tools should be cleaned with turpentine immediately after use. The product contains ingredients such as cobalt bis (2-ethylhexanoate), which can cause allergic reactions. Ensure that children do not come into contact with the product and use it only in well-ventilated areas. A fine dust mask should be worn when sanding the floor. Excess oil and soaked materials can be disposed of with household waste after drying.
