What is Lithofin Rust-EX?

Lithofin Rust-EX is a mild-alkaline cleaning agent specially developed for the removal of rust stains and residues of other metal oxides. This product is effective on various surfaces such as clinker, ceramics, natural stone, marble, limestone, granite, gneiss, quartzite, concrete, and concrete stone. Lithofin Rust-EX works by converting the reactive substances in the rust into water-soluble substances, visible through a violet discoloration. This allows rust stains to be easily rinsed off with water. The product can be used both indoors and outdoors and leaves no visible changes to the surface.

How the product works

The effectiveness of Lithofin Rust-EX begins when the undiluted product is applied to the dry surface. It is evenly distributed with a brush and lightly scrubbed. The violet discoloration indicates that the product is starting to work. After 5 to a maximum of 10 minutes of exposure time, the product should not dry out. Add water and a few drops of Lithofin MN Power-Clean (or some diluted dish soap), brush and wash off. Then rinse thoroughly with clean water. It is important that the exposure time does not exceed 10 minutes. If the effect is insufficient, the process can be repeated several times.

Add water and a few drops of Lithofin MN Power-Clean, brush and rinse thoroughly with water. Repeat if necessary for stubborn stains. First, treat a test area to check suitability. Avoid contact with metals, lacquer, wood, and sensitive surfaces. On polished limestone and marble, the surface may become slightly dull if left on too long.

Care and Advice

Store Lithofin Rust-EX in a cool, dark, and closed container. Use within a year of purchase for best results. The product may turn violet over time, which is normal. Always follow the safety instructions on the packaging. Wear eye protection and gloves during use. In case of contact with eyes, rinse carefully with water and remove any contact lenses. Consult a doctor if necessary. For environmental protection, the surfactants in Lithofin Rust-EX are biodegradable according to Regulation (EC) No. 648/2004. Dry and clean empty packaging is recyclable.
